COOKING MY FIRST EASY MEAL
I still remember the first easy meal I cooked at the age of thirteen.
It was an easy pasta meal that my aunt showed me how to make. It took
us less than 30 minutes to prepare and cook this tasty, homemade easy
meal of pasta shells with Italian spicy sausage and ground beef in
pasta sauce.
Best of
all, I had fun doing it and learned the basics of home cooking. This
early kitchen "adventure" stirred in me an interest and passion to cook
and I continued to learn cooking tips, techniques and family recipes
from my mum and grandmas (both paternal and maternal), all of whom were
very good cooks.
THE
COOKING ADVENTURE CONTINUES
Some
twenty five years on (now this is a dead give away of my age!), I still
love and enjoy cooking and trying out new recipes, especially easy to
cook recipes. By "easy to cook", I mean simple recipes that make use of
easy to find ingredients that can be cooked without fuss in your own
home kitchen.
Here's
what we had for dinner recently. Sweet and sour fish. And it took me
only 20 minutes to cook using a simple sweet
and sour sauce recipe. Now that's what I mean by easy to cook
recipes.
I
just love my weekends! When the weekend comes, its time for something
special. It's when we get to try something new and exciting and simply
mouthwatering. So, we got out our tagine and cooked this really spicy
boneless pork recipe called pork bafat.

As
busy working parents ourselves, we know and understand how hectic your
day can
be. Keeping up with the bosses' demands at the workplace plus keeping
track of the kids' activities and schoolwork makes you feel like you
need eight pairs of hands (and legs!) to keep up.

owe it to ourselves to have a healthy homecooked family dinner. Not
take out food that's loaded with MSG and junk food that's full of
cholesterol and oil.
