Hi,
I'm Glen and this is about How I Did It.
Started my website, that is. What were you thinking? ; )
Like so many other regular folk, I've long thought about starting a
profitable home based business.
The opportunity to be your own boss, doing what you love and know best,
spending more time at home with your family, taking the first steps to
your financial freedom.....
All of these "push" factors made me think about how great it would be
to
earn some extra income by starting my
own home based business.
The Internet Can
Lead You To Financial Freedom -
If You Do It Right
I was certain that I wanted to start an internet home business. Low
start-up costs; the ability to reach out to customers anywhere in the
world with an internet connection; a truly 24x7 business without having
to slog 24x7.
This would be my path to earning some extra money on the side. Keeping
my day job for now but slowly and surely building my internet home
business.
My goal : that it will one day (Soon!) be profitable enough
for me to quit my day job.
But where would I start? And what would be my business model? Who would
show me the ropes?
I Learn
From The Best In The Business
This is where my story begins. Read on and join
me on this joyride. I'll tell you how I came to learn of something so
powerful, motivational and real. And why it made a whole lot of sense
for me to follow this model.
I researched a lot on the internet trying to learn about an internet
home business. Quite by chance, I stumbled upon a website that made
complete sense. There was no hype and no exaggerated claims.
Instead, there were lots of testimonials and real life experiences from
real life successful internet home business owners. Most of
these real
life people had the same desire and objectives as I did - to run a
successful web business.
I could not stop reading and absorbing all of the things that a web
hosting company called SBI! was telling me. You don't
normally get this
kind of wealth of information from a web hosting company!
Usually, it's all about these companies pitching to you about how great
their web hosting service is, what features their webmail service has,
blah....blah....blah....
Their message is usually the same - "Why you should choose our web
hosting service". i.e. "We really couldn't care less if you succeed or
not, just give us your credit card number!"
The Proof Is In The Pudding
(well, this is
a website about recipes, y'know)
SBI! is totally different, and it was
such a refreshing change!
They give away information for free. Information that some other
rip-off websites charge hundreds of dollars for, and not half as
valuable.
Plain and simple, their philosophy is that if you succeed, SBI!
succeeds. Mutual benefit in its most elegant form.

succeed.
SBI! was telling me how to succeed in this dog-eat-dog world of
internet marketing.
And like a thirsty puppy, I was lapping up every word of it. Why?
Because it made absolute sense. No nonsense. No "get-rich-overnight!"
or "make millions on auto-pilot!" rubbish that other so-called internet
gurus falsely promise. No hype!
In fact, the information was practical, simple and down to earth. The
more I read, the more I was convinced that this was the real thing.
The Passion-Based Web Business
SBI!'s mantra to a successful web business can
be summed up in one word - PASSION.
So what exactly does a passion-based web business actually mean? And
how could doing something you love and are passionate about actually
make you money?
Well, my passion is trying out new recipes, cooking for my family and
having family dinners together. This is what my website is all about.
It is my passion for cooking and having family dinners that drives this
website.
But this wasn't my idea.
Oh no, I learnt about this from a very clever guy, a Doctor actually,
by the name of Ken Evoy.

Ken Evoy is the founder of Site Build It! or
SBI! for short. And he not only convinced me to start a web business
driven by passion. No, he and the SBI! team have succeeded in
convincing a whole community of SBI-ers who have used their knowledge
and passion - about anything - to start a profitable home business.
And I mean literally anything. From sleeping to cooking to internet
marketing. Anything.
There is a long list of hobbies and passions that have motivated
ordinary
folk, just like you and me, to start an internet home based
business.
Over and over, you will hear how SBI-ers write about their favorite

website started.
Correction - SBI! is the
engine that helped me get this web business started.
There is a big difference between owning a website and running a web
business.
My wife was skeptical when I told her about "yet another business
idea". But after seeing the commissions and advertising revenue I have
been making so far, she has finally come to the conclusion that SBI!
has worked for me. No more pipe dreams.
In fact, she may just be convinced to become a Work At Home Mom herself
after reading how Work At Home Moms do it.

My website, easy-meal-ideas.com, is still a work
in progress.
I am having a whale of a time adding new recipes and sharing ideas and
I will continue to do so. And while having fun
is nice, making some additional revenue at the same time makes it even
more enjoyable, don't you agree? : )
I don't have to worry about being slow in the game. In fact, SBI! gives
the tortoise like me a fighting chance. After all, the tortoise did win
the race, not the hare!
